From Oxford to Dallas – Changing the World Through Stories

[Medium] Oxford’s winding lanes, hidden courtyards, and low-ceilinged pubs are steeped in stories. Names like CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, and Lewis Carroll conjure up mystical lands and wardrobes that continue to capture our imagination today. As my 8-year-old son devoured his new book that I brought home from Oxford, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, I was once again reminded how stories can inspire, empower, and change the world.

The power of story was front and center at the 13th Skoll World Forum, a gathering of social entrepreneurs and changemakers from across the globe, all committed to creatively solving health, environmental, and human rights challenges. During this inspiring week, the ghosts of master storytellers Lewis Carroll and CS Lewis share the city with the newest and brightest generation of storytellers.
