University Launches Campaign Connecting Climate Change and Public Health

PosterThe University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Office of Sustainability has recently launched a new campaign, Climate Changes Health, to directly highlight the relationship between climate change and public health. On the heels of the 2015 Lancet Commission Report, this campaign is a great symbol of a growing broader movement that drives personal and societal awareness of how tackling climate related issues. From reducing their carbon footprints to advocating for public health policy improvements, individuals and organizations are taking action.

“UCSF is the leading health sciences university in the nation, and we recognize that taking action against climate change protects public health, which is consistent with our mission,” said Gail Lee, UCSF Sustainability Director.

This campaign only furthers UCSF's leadership in leading by example — as an institution and hospital — with a comprehensive strategy to address its climate footprint and mitigate health impacts.
