Dish up some social

Culinary contest 5-year recipe showcase

Curious to check out the competition? Want to show off your mouth-watering dish? Looking to amplify your system’s food service sustainability superstars?

Put social media on the menu – and the menu on social media.

Social media played a vital role in heating up last year’s competition. Across all social media platforms, participants brought public awareness to this critically important work while having a lot of fun in the process. Through pictures, videos, and recipes, participants provided a glimpse into the innovation and excitement of the health care culinary world.

Now's the time to join the national conversation on plant-forward and its power to reimagine hospital food.

The heart of this contest and conversation is you, so the main purpose of these samples is to get you started. Use social media to let your network (and the competition) know that you’re in it to win it, and that you’re here to change the very definition of hospital food.

To make sharing as easy as possible, we’ve created a number of sample posts and images free for your use. Each post is under X’s 280 character limit, so they can be used across all social media platforms.

Once you’ve gotten started, how you want to share the contest is completely up to you. Showcase an innovative cooking method on YouTube? Thank your farmer on X? Post your gorgeous dish on Instagram? The social media world is your oyster.

All we ask is that when crafting your own posts, you use the following relevant hashtags in order to be a part of the larger conversation: #Food, #Healthcare, #Climate, #Local, #Sustainable, #ClimateChange, #HospitalFood.

And most importantly, don’t forget to tag Health Care Without Harm on Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram, so we can amplify your voice as well.

From social media to media

When we're changing the way people think about hospital food, there can never be too many cooks in the kitchen. Along with social media, traditional media outlets (publications, television, podcasts, etc.) can elevate this conversation to a regional—or even national—level while also firing up the competition.

We encourage you to engage your PR and communications departments around the contest. Feel free to adapt our language to best suit your needs. If your PR team has questions, please reach out to our communications team.

We've created slides that can be used to promote the contest in presentations.

We will be featuring stories, quotes, and photos throughout the contest in our communications channels and elevating leaders where possible.
